Advantages

Calculations and formulas can be quickly and easily created so that  overall figures can be given. These can then be easily updated and amended as needed and copied across an entire spreadsheet with just one click of the mouse.

Information can be displayed in a number of different ways from the standard column and row format that the data is entered in or converted to using a PDF to Excel converter such as the ones available at https://pdftables.com/ or it can be displayed in graph form. This means that complex data can be shown in a meaningful way when it comes to reporting and analysing the information in front of you.

Disadvantages

Human error needs to be factored into spreadsheets as they can not as yet assess for mistakes in the information that you enter. There are advanced functions such as conditional formatting that allow you to search for any duplicate entries that you may have made.

Complex formulas can be difficult to understand but there are many online videos that can help explain what all the terminology used means and how to set up more complex formulas for your calculations.
