Flooring options for playgrounds

Playgrounds are spaces where young people can spend their time playing with their siblings or their friends and in some cases, they give the children a chance to exercise and get some fresh air. It is often a requirement of new housing estates that playgrounds are built in the area for the local children. When these are developed they will often be created with a specific age range in mind, but one thing that all playgrounds have in common is the need for safety equipment and flooring.

A good Playgrounds Cheltenham company such as https://www.greenfieldsltd.co.uk/services/playgrounds-and-parks/ knows how important it is that the flooring that is chosen for a specific park is safe and adequate for use. Bark – this is a common flooring option in some parks and playgrounds. It is easy to lay and to maintain and repair but it can be a little harsh on the hands and knees if children fall or trip over.

Rubber – this type of flooring acts like a soft cushion and is a popular choice nowadays. Not only is it very effective at keeping children safe if they fall off equipment or trip over, but it is also fairly cost-effective and easy to install and maintain.

Hard flooring – this is often only used when multi-sports areas are created for children to play football, basketball or other ball-specific sports throughout the year.
