Signs that it’s time to change your floor

Think your flooring is looking a little tired? Do you have cracks, scratches or holes forming? If you are not sure if you might require a full replacement, here are some tips:

  1. Obvious cracks

If your floor has a clearly significant crack of a large size, it will have to be replaced entirely. It is most likely past its best and beyond repair. Cracks can attract mites and insects, as well as collect dust and debris. Cracks have a tendency to deteriorate over time, especially in high traffic areas. A gap left undealt with will just end up getting worse and could damage the underflooring.

  1. Your flooring is very out of date

If fashion and trends have moved on several times since your floor was laid, it may be time to update it for something a bit more modern. However, if you have stunning antique wood flooring, for example, you’ll want to renovate instead. If this happens, you may be better off considering repair and restore the original timber. 1. Carpet has worn out

If your carpet is old and has been down for many years, chances are it has stains, spills and ingrained dirt that will not respond to cleaning. Carpet is very susceptible to dust and dirt in the best of times, but the older it gets, the worse it will be.
