How to Roll Out Compliance Elearning Across Your Team

Compliance Elearning: How to Roll Out Across Your Team.

Rolling out compliance training out to your team can feel like trying to herd cats. But by setting out a few key things at the start, you can avoid a lot of hassle and make administering your compliance training a breeze.

Audit Who Needs What and By When

Start with a simple spreadsheet outlining all of the roles within your organisation and which compliance training topics will be required for each role. Include any fixed (by law) and internal deadlines for the start of compliance training for each topic.

Set Up Your Delivery Platform

Whether you choose to use a hosted Learning Management System (LMS) or have an Elearning Compliance Training provider deliver your compliance training via a platform, it is worth testing the login process on different devices to check that it works for your staff. Also check that completion of the training is recorded automatically on the system rather than relying on staff to report completion themselves.

Tell Staff What Is Coming and Why

It is also important to explain why you are running the compliance training in the first place. A simple message from a manager that sets out what the compliance training covers, the duration of the compliance training and why it is necessary is far more effective than a system message. It helps to engage staff when they can see the relevance to them. A simple example would be to outline staff training requirements under UK data protection law. This gives a real life example of what is expected of the regulator.

Set Deadlines and Assign Manager Accountability

Provide the date for the end of the training and assign each manager their team members for them to chase if necessary.

Chase Late Completions and Keep the Records

Then remind everyone three days before the end of the window to complete the training and a final reminder on the day. You can then export a report of all completions and store it for safe keeping as evidence some time in the future of who completed what when to meet any audit or inspection from a regulator under UK law.

A clean record of who completed what when is worth hours of admin time down the line.
