Firstly, get your teeth checked regularly by the dentist to catch any problems early and to prevent tooth loss. Ideally, don’t smoke at all, and limit your alcohol consumption as well as your intake of sugary foods. Along with eating a balanced plant-based diet full of whole-foods, you will be treating your body as it needs to be you in order to support you the best it can for the rest of your life.

Start strength training if you don’t already do it. This is important to prevent your bones and muscles from weakening so much that they can no longer function as they should. Swimming is a great sport for a good overall activity that supports your whole body. Strengthening your body can be as easy as lifting a couple of weights and a medicine ball for a few minutes a day.

Communal activities are especially beneficial, as well as living as a part of a community. Having a sense of belonging is vital to our mental well-being.
