- Before you organise team building, identify your goals
Start by defining your goals. As the organiser, ask yourself the following questions:
- What are your goals with these activities and how will you achieve them?
- Do you want to enhance your teamwork skills, improve your leadership abilities, or just have fun?
- What are you expecting your team to accomplish through these activities?
- What do you expect to happen once you have set your goals?
- How will your results look 3 months later?
Clarity in your goals will not only guide your planning, but will also result in positive outcomes for your entire team. If you don’t plan, you will fail. This is true even for corporate team-building activities. For Corporate Team Building, contact 270 Climbing
- Select the right activity
Choose an activity that is in line with your goals as well as the interests of your group. Popular choices include problem-solving activities, outdoor adventure games, and volunteering at a local charity.
- When you plan a team-building event, set a budget
Budget your event. Costs for materials, transportation and equipment are important to consider. Consider your team’s preferences as well as the budget you have available.
You should also consider if you need any financial assistance from your staff. Remember to set aside a budget for food and drinks. Nothing is worse than a bunch of hungry workers!
- Plan your logistics
Coordinate all logistics, including date, time and location. Make sure that all team members can easily access the venue and it has the required facilities.
